A classic post-viral irritation. I’d already tried a standard glycerin syrup at home with no relief. At that point, a suppressant would have been a clinically reasonable next step. Instead, only basic syrups were offered, and when I asked about a product containing a cough suppressant, it was dismissed without proper clinical discussion. A few vague questions were asked, but no real symptom history was taken. The decision felt shaped more by risk-aversion, assumptions, and local patterns than by a full clinical picture. A cautious approach is valid—and in this case, it was delivered with courtesy—but it must be based on clinical detail, not assumptions.
